Dear friend,
Welcome to September! It is my prayer that this ninth month will bring to you many testimonies of fulfilled dreams and visions to the glorification of Jesus. Our focus this ninth month will be on laying the foundations of the manifestations of the nine fruit and gifts of the Spirit.
The nine segments of the fruit of the Spirit are highlighted in Galatians 5:22-24 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
1 Corinthians 12:7-11, also states the nine gifts of the Spirit; “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
Jesus made it quite clear in Matthew 7:15-23, that our Christlike character and obedience to His Word will manifest as fruits in our lives, which will prove that we are His true sons and daughters.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits, you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” Matthew 7:15-23
Friend, I have witnessed severally occasions where people are operating in the gifts of the Spirit but with no manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit. As a result, seducing spirits, works of the flesh, doctrines of devils, and deception have rather operated alongside the gifts of the Spirit, manifesting in various areas of their lives and ministry.
It is my prayer that from this month onwards, our foundations will be built on maturing in and manifesting the fruit of the Spirit, alongside the gifts of the Spirit.
