Beloved Friend,
Welcome to February 2024. Peace, grace, and joy be multiplied to you by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Do spend a few minutes each day of this month to give God praise and thanks for the past month and the past years of His mercy, goodness, grace, and love towards us.
We thank God for His grace and strength to seek His face through fasting and prayer in January. I believe the Lord has heard us and revealed what is on His heart for us, the church and nations this year and beyond.
The Bible says that faith without works is dead. “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” James 2:17.
Prayer is an act of faith, so from this month onwards we need to put the instructions we have received in prayer, from God into practice.
By the grace of God, we will continue to obey the instructions of God to seek, save and disciple the nations.
This month I want to remind us of our first and primary calling, which is to be like ‘Jesus Christ’ in nature and character.
As we know Christ came to seek and save the lost and make disciples for His father’s kingdom. The Bible said concerning Christ that He was the express image and nature of God. Jesus Christ showed us by His very character that God is love, holy, peace, joy, long-suffering, merciful, good, gracious, and much more.
‘He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.’ Colossians 1:15
‘And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.’ John 1:14
‘No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.’ John 1:18
“has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,” Hebrews 1:2-3.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority, but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” John 14:6-10
Beloved, we are predestined to be like Jesus Christ. “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29.
Whenever you prioritise God, and first spend time communing in fellowship with Him, you will surely manifest His nature and character in all you say and do in your life and ministry.
I pray that your continued time in communion, fellowship, and prayer with God throughout this year will cause you to be changed into the same image of Christ from glory to glory.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.2 Corinthians 3:18
