Dear Friend,
Welcome to July! We give God praise for His boundless grace and mercy toward us.
This month, I want us to pray for greater discernment and for the ability to understand and rightly divide the Word of God.
This prayer for discernment is especially important today because an increasing number of people are searching for answers and solutions outside of Christ. Many have become involved in practices and teachings that, from a biblical perspective, lead people away from God’s truth, including psychics, mediums, occult practices, and other spiritually deceptive influences.
As spiritual deception continues to increase, it is more important than ever that we pray earnestly for our communities and for those who are seeking answers outside of Christ.
Let us increase and intensify our prayers and our evangelism like never before.
Beloved, many people have become spiritually indifferent and complacent. However, we are living in the last days, and the world is changing rapidly. We must remain watchful and alert in the Spirit.
We are called to be vigilant, prayerful, and full of faith.
The Word of God declares:
“So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:6
Just as those who sleep at night are unaware of what is happening around them, many who are spiritually asleep fail to discern the times and the work of the enemy. This is not a time for spiritual passivity but for active faith and obedience.
Therefore, let us pray fervently, seek God’s face earnestly, and proclaim the Gospel boldly. Let us stand on the walls as watchmen, intercede for our families, communities, and nations, and be faithful labourers in the harvest field.
One area that deserves our particular attention is the younger generation. Many young people are confused because of the erroneous teachings that are so prevalent on the internet and in the media.
As 1 Timothy 4:1 warns:
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons.”
This is becoming increasingly concerning in these last days, as many are being influenced by teachings that have departed from biblical truth.
They need sound biblical teaching and faithful discipleship so they can learn to study the Scriptures for themselves, rightly divide the Word of God, and discern truth from error.
As God’s people, may we remain steadfast in prayer, faithful in sharing the Gospel, and committed to making disciples who stand firmly upon the truth of God’s Word.
